My parents live in Saitama prefecture,
next to Tokyo.
When we visited there, my youngest
daughter called my mother, "Obaba!"
Since she couldn't find her grandma, she yelled.
But "Obaba" is not a good word.
Granny means "Obahchan" in ordinary Japanese.
My mother said, "Oh, my!"
I was embarrassed and tried to an excuse,
"Nobody uses such a bad word in our home.
Bee, why did you say so?"
