My youngest daughter went on a field trip
to Ueno zoo in last October.
I made a kyara-ben for her.

Do you know kyara-ben or obento?
It is a lunch to go and kyara-ben has some characters in it.

It was the last day of October,
so I made a rice ghost and a pumpkin Jack-o'-lantern.

After her lunch, I made two more Jack-o'-lanterns
using the rest of pumpkin for my eldest daughter's breakfast.
Their faces were made with nori, Japanese sea weed.
The bigger one looks like my eldest daughter
and the smaller one looks like my youngest daughter.

Kyara-ben is very popular in Japan.
I have four books about how to make them.
